With lockdowns in place, it’s almost impossible for a clothing brand to stage a photo shoot and carry out marketing campaigns and advertising to promote the clothing of the brand. That said, GEMO had a stroke of genius and proposes to let players of Animal Crossing discover its new clothing range.
Indeed, fans of video games will get to discover the new products from the ready-to-wear and accessories brand Gémo, and even attend a fashion show in the game's virtual store of the life-simulation title, released right at the start of the lockdown, where players are tasked with developing their own village.
To this end, the brand teamed up with the agency Rosbeef! which recreated in pixel art the entire lineup of Gémo's Spring–Summer 2020 collection. Players can thus use them to dress their avatars and switch outfits at will according to the different events of the day.
Rosbeef! breaks down this strategy in a short YouTube video:
And to showcase all these products, the brand even went as far as organizing a virtual runway show with influencers in partnership with the online magazine MadmoiZelle.
Just like the brand, which offers clothes for the pour toute la famille, players can dress all their avatars with the hommes, femmes and enfants collections. And to télécharger the outfits into your video game as well, check out the list of codes gratuits on the MadmoiZelle website.
It's a smart bet for the brand, since it's easy to imagine that when the reopening of stores, the kids will nag their parents to dress like their favorite character in the game.
