For the past 7 years, La Régulière has been the local cultural shop in the Goutte d'Or district , which at the time didn't have its own independent bookshop. Two friends, Alice and Julia, who lived in the area and knew it well, decided to create this warm and bright place, open to the world. Part coffee shop, part graphic arts bookshop, part art gallery, the colorful space welcomes you every day except Sunday for a moment of suspended animation!
At La Régulière, you can ask the charming team for advice on choosing a book, settle down with a coffee and work for a few hours, stroke the bookshop cat or admire a few works of art, depending on your mood - or why not all at once? Far from Gibert Joseph and other more general bookshops, here the emphasis is on independent and marginalized publishing houses, for greater diversity and discovery, far from the beaten track.
Among the hanging plants, stroll between the stacks of books to find your next read, between art books, humanities, novels and other sometimes little-known nuggets. Admire the current exhibition on the walls of the bookshop and pick up a whole host of goodies based around the printed image, including posters, T-shirts, tote bags, notebooks, and even the collective work imagined by La Régulière, in collaboration with local residents.
You can browse through your book in the coworking area, or work on your computer, at a rate ofone drink per hour! Tea, lemonade, hot chocolate and coffee, often local, are the perfect accompaniment to the home-made pastries on offer. Children are also welcome, thanks to a children's corner brimming with books for all ages, as well as workshops, often linked to art and reading, that will delight the little ones and enable them to learn new things.
As for adults, the bookshop regularly offers reading circles and clubs, writing workshops, meetings and book signings, vernissages, round tables and intersectional reflections - the pick of the bunch! These are difficult times for our independent bookshops, so don't hesitate to drop in whenever you can, especially if you live in the 18th arrondissement, as you could well become ... regular customers!
