With its wide selection of new and second-hand products, Gibert Joseph is a long-established address for Latin Quarter regulars, selling books, CDs, DVDs and much more.

Gibert Jeune closed its doors in 2021, leaving behind a good number of loyal readers. But rest assured, its counterpart Gibert Joseph is still standing. And if the former was just a bookshop, Gibert Joseph is its more generalist counterpart. Within the walls of 26 and 34 Boulevard Saint-Michel, you'll find books, of course, but not only books. Gibert is also a stationery store, a record shop and a video store. You'll find new and second-hand products, and these second-hand items are more affordable. The price is a little higher than the average of other second-hand bookshops, but that's a few euros saved! Second-hand products are distinguished by a small yellow label.

The great thing about Gibert Joseph is that nothing is left out. The shelves are well-stocked, and each floor is dedicated to a specific genre. You'll find all kinds of literature, as well as essays, travel guides, school books, comics, manga and even antiquarian books.

Its focus on scientific and academic books, and its proximity to the major Parisian universities, also make it a popular place for students, who will find many shelves devoted to preparation for competitive exams (prep school, medicine, etc.).

There are several other Gibert Joseph stores in Paris: on Boulevard Saint-Denis (2nd arrondissement), rue Marie-Andrée Lagroua Weil-Halle (13th arrondissement), on Boulevard Barbès (18th arrondissement) and on the top floor of Printemps Nation (12th arrondissement).
