Chambourcy is hosting its first mineral exhibition and sale on November 15 and 16, 2025, at the Salle de la Montjoie, with free admission. The Saphir'Art association will be presenting fossils, gems, and stone jewelry, with around fifteen exhibitors and prices starting at €2.

Calling all rock lovers! Chambourcy in the Yvelines is the place to be this weekend! For the first time, this town is hosting an exhibition and sale of minerals, fossils, and gems organized by the Saphir'Art association. OnNovember 15 and 16, 2025, the Salle de la Montjoie will open its doors to around fifteen passionate exhibitors, who will be presenting fascinating pieces from all over the world.

Created last September in Sceaux in the Hauts-de-Seine department, Saphir'Art brings together a dozen members, geologists, gemologists, and mineralogy enthusiasts. This event marks the association's very first initiative, which aims to introduce people to a world that is still little known in the Île-de-France region. "I realized that this is still a relatively unknown field, especially in the Île-de-France region," says Nalisoa Rantoanina, president of the association, in the columns of 78actu.

Collectors and curious visitors alike will find something to suit them, with pieces available at affordable prices. Prices start at €2 and can reach €400 to €500 for the rarest specimens. On display are minerals from Morocco, Madagascar, Russia, and France, presented by exhibitors who know their products and their origins inside out. It's the perfect opportunity to add to your collection or simply marvel at these treasures of nature.

Why is this exhibition particularly aimed at families?

Beyond its commercial dimension, the event has a real educational ambition. "The main objective of our association is to pass on knowledge and allow the public, especially children and teenagers, to come and marvel at fascinating minerals with amazing shapes and colors," the president explains to Actu.fr. Fossils dating back hundreds of millions of years sit alongside gems with hypnotic reflections, reminding us that there are beautiful things in nature and under our feet, far away from our screens.

To encourage families to come and discover this world, admission is very affordable: €2 per person or €5 for a family pass. Children under 14 enter free of charge and even leave with a small gift. This gesture demonstrates the association's desire to spark the curiosity of the youngest visitors.

What place does this event occupy in the Île-de-France landscape?

This initiative fills a gap in the department. In the Yvelines, only the international mineral, fossil, and jewelry fair in Jouy-en-Josas, organized by the local geological association, has been a reference for nearly 50 years. Its 49th edition will be held on November 29 and 30, 2025, at the Théâtre du Vieux Marché. With this new event in Chambourcy, Saphir'Art hopes to lay the foundation for a series of exhibitions dedicated to the beauty of the Earth and gradually expand its presence to other towns in the department.

Come and discover these precious and semi-precious stones, these perfectly shaped crystals and these fossils that bear witness to a distant past. A wonderful opportunity to journey to the heart of geology without leaving the Île-de-France region. In short, if you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, this first edition promises wonderful discoveries for all ages.

The exhibition is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chemin du Jeu de Boules in Chambourcy.
