The Lire la Nature fair brings book lovers together at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, from January 20 to 21, 2024, with meetings, debates and a special program for children.

The Lire la nature book fair is an opportunity to discover new authors dealing with the natural world around us, and to rediscover a little-known site in the capital, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature. For its sixth edition, the literary salon that"celebrates the links between man and nature" will explore the relationship between humans and the wild world, on January 20 and 21, 2024, around three predators present in France: the bear, the lynx and the wolf.

For two days, writers and storytellers, as well as ecologists, will be on hand to discuss the environmental challenges facing humanity, and the place of Man in a society that is losing its link with nature. Some thirty nature-loving authors, including Catherine Poulain, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Cédric Gras and Lauren Bastide, will share their discoveries about the sea, trees, birds, animals and the complex, fragile environment that is nature.

Playful and immersive nature-related activities await the youngest visitors: children's workshops, strolling readings, theatrical visits or the great dictation. Keep them busy while their parents listen to the debates. The François Sommer Foundation will also be announcing the winner of its literary prize, and inviting the selected authors to discuss the award, which since 1980 has honored a novel or essay exploring man's relationship with nature.

It's also an opportunity to get to know the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature a little better, and enjoy the temporary Animal Kingdom exhibition. The private mansions that house the museum will open their doors free of charge during the show, allowing visitors to admire the Grand Salon, the Mansart staircase and the vaulted rooms, which will host a temporary bookshop and workshops for the duration of the weekend.
