Get out your diaries, there's another great artistic event waiting for you this spring in the Paris region! From April 6 to May 11, 2024, the town of Corbeil-Essonnes hosts the 12th edition of the l'Œil urbain photography festival. This free art festival, open to all, showcases contemporary French artists through a series of exhibitions.
Just a Navigo pass away, this festival allows us to enjoy a dozenphoto exhibitions, scattered around the city's streets and buildings. From the theater to the forecourt of theHôtel de Ville, via the municipal art gallery, the Square Crété and the mediatheque, a whole artistic journey awaits us.
Every year, an artist in residence in Corbeil-Essonnes has the opportunity to show his or her work, thanks to this festival which promotes young talent as well as established photographers.
The guest of honor for this 12th edition is Raymond Depardon: the photographer has worked for the occasion around the archives of the Olympic Games, from Mexico to Germany. He will be joined by nine other artists: Laurence Kourcia, Cyril Zannettacci, Constance Decorde, Bernard Testemale, Amandine Lauriol, Jérémy Lempin, Nathalie Champagne, Charles Thiefaine and Rime Sabbar. The photographers worked in 2024 around the theme of this year's edition:"La Flamme". The theme of sport, and its role in society, politics, ecology and combat, was a particular focus this year.
More than a dozen exhibitions, and as many different styles, universes and interpretations to discover freely, during this not-to-be-missedfree festival in Corbeil-Essonnes!
