The Lire la Nature book fair is the perfect opportunity to discover emerging authors focusing on the world around us, as well as to revisit a lesser-known Parisian gem, the Museum of Hunting and Nature. Celebrating its eighth edition, this literary festival—which "honors the bond between humans and nature"—aims to shift perceptions of the living world. Join us on January 31 and February 1, 2026 for a weekend of engaging discussions, insightful debates, and free activities suitable for the whole family.
Over the course of two days, writers and , as well as ecologists, will gather to discuss the environmental challenges facing humanity and reflect on humanity’s place in a society that is increasingly disconnected from nature. About thirty authors passionate about the natural world— including Mathieu Belezi, Valentine Goby, Sylvère Petit, Minh Tran Huy, Wendy Delorme, François Schuiten, and Nylso—will share their perspectives. Together, they will question our certainties and explore humanity’s relationship with all living beings.
Fun and immersive activities connected to nature await the little ones: creative workshops for children led by illustrators, storytelling visits, and other engaging experiences designed to keep them entertained while parents attend panel discussions. The lineup also includes performances, documentary screenings, writing workshops, and artistic interventions. The François Sommer Foundation will also unveil the winner of its literary award and will invite the selected authors to join a debate about this prize, which has honored since 1980 a novel or essay exploring the relationship between humans and nature.
This is also a great opportunity to get a closer look at the Museum of Hunting and Nature and enjoy the current exhibition. The historic private mansions hosting it open their doors for free, allowing visitors to admire the Grand Salon, the Mansart staircase, and the vaulted rooms, which will host a pop-up bookstore and workshops for the weekend.
