The Hors limites festival opens the door to contemporaryliterature on the scale of the Seine-Saint-Denis département, over a two-week period from March 21 to April 5, 2025. Created by the department's library association, the literary festival travels to some thirty towns in Seine-Saint-Denis and Paris, among numerous media libraries and partner venues.
More than 30 authors and artists will be present at some hundred events: meetings, screenings, shows, musical readings, performances and workshops, all with the aim of promoting literature. These two weeks of festivities kick off on March 21 at 8pm, at Romainville's Romain-Rolland media library, with a musical reading of Sylvain Prudhomme's latest novel, Coyote, accompanied by Seb Martel on guitar.
To close the festival, on the evening of April 5, a musical reading awaits the public at the Robert Desnos library in Montreuil. On March 22, festival-goers can also take part in a literary tour with author Philippe Jaenada, to discover an author and his work in an original way, accompanying him through various stages of the département. This year, the route takes in Blanc-Mesnil, Bondy and Villemomble.
Entirely free of charge, this festival showcases the work done by book professionals to promote literature, through the cross-fertilization of different art forms, including cinema and live performance. It's an opportunity to rediscover the Seine-Saint-Denis region, which is undergoing radical change, through different eyes. Discover the full program on the festival website!
