For its 30th anniversary, the trade show Créations & savoir-faire offers a lineup rich in on-site experiences: more than 470 workshops, free demonstrations, exhibitions, activities for both kids and adults, and several festive highlights at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. A chance to discover new crafts, create with your own hands, or simply enjoy a convivial moment around creativity.
470 workshops to learn and create
It’s impossible to talk about Créations & savoir-faire without mentioning the Village Ateliers, which offers more than 600 hours of workshops for a unique, creative, and sociable experience—open to both enthusiasts and beginners eager to try a new craft. Over five days, visitors can dive into a wide range of techniques, sharpen their skills, or simply discover a new activity alongside artists, artisans, content creators, and industry professionals.
From sewing and knitting to crochet, embroidery, macramé, journaling, watercolour, and jewelry making… there’ll be something for every taste and level. To mark the fair’s 30th anniversary, several workshops specially designed around this milestone will also round out the program: handmade gifts, card-making to DIY your invitations, journaling to immortalize the celebration, and even creating a guestbook. A chance to try new techniques and leave with your own creations.
Free activities and creative sessions
In tandem with the workshops, several spaces will let visitors explore and try out a range of practices for free. The spaces ID•DÉCO, ID•FIL, ID•FOOD et ID•FAMILY will host demonstrations and activities that are accessible without any registration.
A new feature of this anniversary edition, ID•FAMILY will be entirely devoted to creations to be shared across generations, with activities designed for children by Ravensburger and Pandacraft.
Visitors will also enjoy the Pauses Créatives, four spaces freely accessible and free of charge to carve out a moment of creativity between discoveries: coloring, knitting & crochet, embroidery and puzzles.
Another cannot-miss moment for knitting fans: Speed Knitting, the French championship for knitting speed, will run during the expo: three minutes on the clock to knit as many stitches as possible. Thrilling!
Exhibitions to celebrate 30 years of know-how
The Art Textile Exhibition will also be back with an edition dedicated to the theme “What counts, what is told”. Artists, collectors and associations will showcase works built around thread, weaving, patchwork, knitting, or embroidery, exploring memory, transmission and collaborative creation.
Among the works to discover is The Heart Patchwork, signed Christian Lacroix. Based on a drawing the fashion designer created in 1998, nearly 360 participants stitched together about 400 squares to form a massive 4-by-4-meter patchwork.
The exhibition « Knit a Smile » will present, for its part, an unexpected fusion of art and knitting, with around a dozen Claude Monet paintings reinterpreted entirely in knitting.
A Fab Lab to discover new ways of making
For the first time, a Fab Lab will also be part of the show. Visitors will be able to explore new avenues of creation using connected machines—such as Silhouette devices—highlighted alongside Cricut and xTool. It’s a way to bridge hands-on creativity with cutting-edge technology.
A festive table imagined by Marie Claire Idées
The 30th anniversary will also be an opportunity to set the table! Marie Claire Idées will imagine a a party table specially designed for the fair’s anniversary, with plenty of ideas for decorating, hosting, and creating a festive atmosphere down to the last detail. Perfect for getting inspired before the year-end holidays!
A Night Edition to celebrate the fair's 30th anniversary
On Thursday, November 19, until 9 p.m., enjoy a creative and festive afterwork to discover the exhibitors, take part in workshops, meet the creators and fuel your inspiration… with a few birthday surprises to boot.
A Slow-Creation Fashion Show and Family Day
On Saturday, November 21, Mondial Tissus will stage a fashion show centered on its Slow Création movement, featuring pieces designed by amateur designers.
On Sunday, November 22, the fair will dedicate its day to families with programming designed for both kids and grown-ups. Free creative workshops, playful activities, and a big DIY birthday party treat will offer a moment around handmade crafts, passing on the passion to younger generations, and showing them the joy of creating. It’s also a wonderful chance to leave with plenty of creative ideas to keep the kids busy until spring!
Hundreds of brands and content creators to discover
Over the five days, hundreds of brands, designers and artisans will gather at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, among them Mondial Tissus, SINGER, Artesane, Atelier Brunette, Bohin, Katia, Faber-Castell, Pébéo, Rougier & Plé, Cricut, Fujifilm, Ravensburger, Sentosphère, xTool, Tombow as well as Le Bonheur des Dames.
The fair will also be an opportunity to meet the DIY creators we follow all year on social media, with notably Inèsaki, Alicia Flipo and Just Créé Le, who will offer workshops alongside many other creators.
