Situated in a pretty wooded park between Bougival and Rueil-Malmaison, in the département des Yvelines, the Accrocamp de Rueil is accessible by bus from La Défense. If this weekend you’re after an outdoor escape with a picnic and outdoor games, this is the outing you need!

Once you arrive, you start by strolling through the park and emerge at the far end in a pretty natural space. Indeed, the adventure course is set on an old military camp—and it’s raised high above the ground.

On site, numerous picnic tables are freely accessible, as well as a giant trampoline. Reserved for children (yes, really—except for team-building events), it’s the perfect spot to get your legs moving or to keep the little ones entertained during lunch break or snack time.

We strap on the harnesses, get a quick safety briefing, and kick off with the initiation course to put the safety rules for climbing into practice. The advantage of these courses, as with the Accrocamp des Boucles de Seine, is that the attaching system uses a continuous pulley. An ingenious setup that marries the benefits of a continuous lifeline with the smooth glide of pulleys. It means we don’t need to switch systems when it’s time for the zip-line jumps, and all the courses flow smoothly and simply, with no hitches.

All told, the Accrocamp de Rueil features 7 treetop courses and as many as 80 obstacles. These courses climb from 1 to 15 meters high, depending on the level. Beyond the massive zip lines that slice through the forest, some routes will have you soaring over sunlit trampolines—perfect for capturing majestic landings (or not).

We also offer workshops for the bold, including the Tarzan Jump that has you swinging from a rope to land in a net, Spider-Man style, or the Quick Jump, which simply drops you into the void from 15 meters high for maximum thrills.

The courses progressively increase in difficulty as you go. That said, you’re free to tackle them in any order to dodge the crowds.

Once you’re done, you grab a table and a drink to unwind after the adrenaline. From toddlers as young as 3, to kids, teens, or groups of adults, the courses are truly tailored for all ages and offer a wonderful outdoor tree-top outing when the weather’s nice.
