Friday lunchtime saw the eagerly-awaited Champions League quarter-final draw, which determined the opponents of the only French club still in the running, Paris-Saint-Germain. After their two victories over Real Sociedad, the Parisian club went through to the next round, but found themselves with some very big clubs to face in the next phase. They drew FC Barcelona, far from the worst possible opponent given the other fixtures announced! The Spanish club may not be in as good shape as before, but the remontada is still on everyone's minds...
Some great matches are expected in this new phase of the competition, including an exceptional Real Madrid versus Manchester City, the reigning champions, which promises to be particularly eventful! As for Paris-Saint-Germain's return trip, the first match will be played at home, at the Parc des Princes, on April 9 or 10, with a return to Barcelona on April 16 or 17.
In the event of victory in the quarter-finals, PSG will face either Atlético Madrid or Borussia Dortmund. But before that, the Parisians and the Spaniards must put aside their shared past, a challenge for Luis Enrique, former Barcelona coach during the famous remontada!
