Want to do a good deed for the environment and get back in shape at the same time? Try plogging this Saturday, April 8, on the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin, mixing jogging and waste collection.

Do you know plogging? This unusual sport activity combines jogging and waste collection, for a cleaner and more active world, accessible to all those who would like to try it! Harmonie Mutuelle, in partnership with the Run Eco Team association, is organizing a plogging tour of France, starting this Saturday, April 8, 2023, on the banks of the Canal-Saint-Martin ! Ready to give a hand?

This green race starts this Saturday at 9:45 am, at 55 boulevard Magenta, in the 10th district of Paris. Runners will be able to choose between six different routes and the waste collected during one hour, cleaning the banks of the canal, will be weighed on a giant scale, then sorted and sent for recycling. Born in Sweden in 2016, this practice has proven to be a good way to fight against sedentary lifestyle and raise awareness about environmental protection.

And the great advantage of plogging is that you can do it all year round, alone or in a team, in order to make the streets of the capital or the Ile-de-France cleaner. All you have to do is pick up (with gloves or tongs, of course) the garbage you find on the ground, in the bushes, and put it in the garbage can, to do a good deed, while having fun!
