On Saturday, May 30, 2026, lace up your sneakers for an unprecedented experience. As part of the event “Monuments in Top Form”, the Château de Vincennes invites visitors to run through history, at the gates of the capital! A route through the heart of the historic monument, punctuated by lively mediations, will take you from the dungeon to the chapel, between sweat and knowledge.

The concept is as original as it is physical: history sliced not into centuries, but into kilometers. At 10:30 a.m. sharp, runners will set off from the ticket office on a 5-kilometer chronological journey. From Neolithic hunter-gatherers to today’s Paralympic athletes, each leg of the race will be an opportunity to explore interactive mediations led by actors and by history and STAPS students from the University of Créteil.

For those who want to dive deeper after the effort, a talk by historian Christophe Granger will be held at 11:30 in the chapel’s solemn setting. Here, the guide doesn’t stand still: he runs beside you! A playful way to take ownership of the iconic spaces of the King’s Pavilion or the ceremony courtyard, with completely free access, but don’t forget to register.

Attention, elite athletes: here we’re prioritizing a guided meditation over chasing a personal best. Moreover, the event calls for proper workout gear and good hydration—don't forget your water bottle!
