Caution, Pyrénées sheep are coming to Paris! To close the International Agricultural Show, on Sunday March 6, 2022, sheep, cows, horses, as well as herding dogs will take over the avenue des Champs-Élysées for the afternoon and an exclusive transhumance!
On the menu, animals and their farmers coming from Bearn, for an uncommon event called "Les Folies Béarnaises". This will be the occasion for you to share a festive moment and to experience a one-of-a-kind transhumance, this yearly event dear to farms' hearts.
Meet on March 6 from 1 p.m., between the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées traffic circle to attend this show including an impressive parade of animals (2,022 sheep, 20 bovine and equin teams, herding dogs), as well as shephers, dancers, circus artists and Bearn brotherhoods.
Covering 500 meters, this parade will show the public the richness of Bearn and will return on the evolution of the transhumance and pastoralism, between tradition and modernity.
Remember, in 2019, a transhumance was held at the Buttes Chaumont for the Agricultural Show. This year, change of scenery then with this Bearn transhumance held on March 6, 2022, on the world's most beautiful avenue.
Cohosted by the Agence d'attractivité et Développement Touristiques Béarn Pays basque (AaDT), in partnership with the Agricultural Show, this event is the occasion to discover unique breeds found in Pyrénées-Atlantiques. This event aims at "uniting Parisians and city-dwellers around an exclusive, warm, instructive and uniting event".
Here is an atypical event likely to delight children and adults!
