For the second year, the Paris-Geneviève association is inviting history buffs to enjoy its"Paris vaut bien une fête" festival, on September 9 and 10, 2023, between the 5th and 6th arrondissements of Paris. Over the course of a weekend, the Place Saint-Sulpice takes a trip back in time, with period costumes, a medieval banquet, a "Belle Époque" ball and a historical parade, to celebrate the history of the capital since its foundation.
A true voyage through 1500 years of Parisian life, thanks to a multi-eque village animated by comedians and craftsmen, stone sculptors, wood carvers, as well as a costume parade from the Pantheon and many exceptional animations to believe you're in another dimension. Everything is free, except for the medieval banquet, where you can feast with family and friends at Clovis and Clothilde's costumed table, accompanied by troubadours and storytellers.
Don't forget to book your free tickets, to make sure you can enjoy the parade with its brass bands, historic vehicles, dancers and historic Parisian figures, or the conference
And women can apply to become this year's Honorary Citizen, playing the role of Geneviève, the first mayor of Paris. To do so, you need to be a Parisian, passionate about the city's history and committed to its influence through a project or cause close to your heart. Be careful, you only have until July 31!
