After honoring the career of Bernard Lavilliers last year, this year's Victoires de la Musique are celebrating Eddy Mitchell. The French artist will receive a trophy of honor this Friday, February 14, 2025, at the grand and beautiful Victoires de la musique ceremony!
Usually, artists receiving this "Victoire d'honneur" take the opportunity to take to the stage and perform one or more of their hits. We therefore hope that Eddy Mitchell will take to the stage at the Seine musicale on February 14 to sing some of his greatest hits. In addition, a number of artists will be invited to perform his songs at the ceremony.
Eddy Mitchell is the man behind some forty solo albums, including " Couleur menthe à l'eau ", " Sur la route de Memphis ", " Pas de boogie woogie ", " M'man " and " Il ne rentre pas ce soir ".
At the age of 82, Eddy Mitchell released his 40th album on November 29. Entitled"Amigos", the opus was co-produced by Alain Artaud and Michel Amsellem, and features 12 new songs, including"En décapotable Pontiac". In writing the new songs, Eddy Mitchell was able to call on the talents of a number of French chanson artists, including Alain Souchon, Pascal Obispo, Alain Chamfort and Sanseverino.
Eddy Mitchell will be back on the road in France in summer 2025, with a series of concerts scheduled at a number of festivals: Printemps de Pérouges, Festival de Nîmes, Francofolies de La Rochelle and Festival de Carcassonne.
The artist will not be the only one to receive this honorary title. Sylvie Vartan will also receive this honorary trophy on Friday February 14. The singer ended her farewell tour on January 26 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
The artist, who has sold 40 million records and released some 40 albums, has taken her leave after a career spanning over 60 years. Now aged 80, Sylvie Vartan was responsible for numerous hits, published mainly in the 60s, 70s and 80s, including"La plus belle pour aller danser","L'Amour, c'est comme une cigarette" and"Comme un garçon".
This Friday, Sylvie Vartan, who has never won a Victoire de la musique before, will have the immense pleasure of receiving this honorary trophy for her entire career.
The 40th edition of the Victoires de la musique awards will be broadcast live from the Seine musicale on France 2 and France Inter from 9:10pm on February 14.
Once again, the crème de la crème of the French and francophone scene is honored, with Santa leading the nominations this year, as well as Justice, Gims, Alain Chamfort, Zaho de Sagazan and Pierre Garnier.
