30 years. Sidaction has been fighting AIDS for 30 years, alongside researchers, associations and people living with HIV. " With 5,000 new HIV-positive cases expected in France by 2022, and 1.3 million worldwide, the fight against AIDS must not stop today," says Sidaction on its website.
So the fight goes on, and Sidaction returns this weekend of March 22, 23 and 24, 2024. Once again, Sidaction and its media partners are mobilizing for three days of public awareness and fundraising. This year, for Sidaction's 30th anniversary, artist Mylène Farmer lends her voice to the campaign spot, with music by Woodkid.
A big evening is also to be followed on France 2 in prime time this Saturday, March 23, 2024. Recorded on March 14 at the Grand Rex in Paris, this evening event features a host of celebrities and artists, all mobilized in support of Sidaction.
Announced as the main theme of this anniversary edition, Line Renaud will be joined by Pascal Obispo, Clémentine Célarié, Christophe Dechavanne, Muriel Robin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Vincent Niclo and Daphné Burki, all Sidaction loyalists. Line Renaud, Sidaction's vice-president, will also be accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
The evening will also feature a host of other artists, including Patrick Bruel, Hélène Ségara, Christophe Willem, Olivia Ruiz, Anne Sila, Bilal Hassani, Eddy de Pretto, Camille Lelouch & Lucky and Pomme, Grand Corps Malade and Kimberose.
On stage, the artists will reinterpret songs on the theme of love and hope. " This evening event will look back, through music and personal accounts, at the milestones of Sidaction and its major advances, the pop culture moments that dealt with AIDS, the personalities who fought alongside Line Renaud, those who suffered, and those from all walks of life who are mobilizing today," says France Télévisions in a press release.
