Just a few days before Halloween, the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez at the Philharmonie de Paris invites you to come and shiver as you rediscover Francis Ford Coppola 's"Dracula" during a ciné-concert. There are three screenings this autumn, on Tuesday October 21, Wednesday October 22 and Thursday October 23, 2025 at 8pm.
Released in 1992, Francis Ford Coppola's"Dracula" is an adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, considered one of the most popular books in English literature. Proof of its success, the novel has spawned over thirty adaptations, the most famous of which are Murnau's"Nosferatu" (1922) and Tod Browning's"Dracula" (1931), with Bela Lugosi in the title role. Francis Ford Coppola's"Dracula" stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, as well as Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves.
For his feature film, the American director also called on Polish composer Wojciech Kilar, a former student of Nadia Boulanger. The result? The soundtrack reveals sublime harmonies, striking solos (viola, bass flute) and the nocturnal presence of the choir.
On October 21, 22 and 23, 2025, come and (re)discover"Dracula" in cine-concert with the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Frank Strobel. Please note that the Philharmonie de Paris warns that certain scenes in the film"may, by their violence, offend the sensibilities of young viewers".
