System of a Down at the Stade de France: here’s how to properly plan your trip by public transport

Following Jul's rap, David Guetta's electro, and Bruno Mars' pop, System of a Down brings the metal latest. The renowned American band led by Serj Tankian is set to roll into the country's biggest venue, Stade de France, on Thursday, July 2 and Saturday, July 4, 2026. And the fans are already buzzing. This SOAD tour marks the group's first European run since 2017! Back then, Serj Tankian and his crew electrified the Download Festival Paris.

For this long-awaited return to the European stage and these two shows just outside Paris, System of a Down should deliver on the hits that defined the early 2000s, such as "Chop Suey!", "Toxicity", "Aerials" and "Lonely Day".

But to pogo and headbanger to these legendary tracks by System of a Down, you’ll need to make your way to the Stade de France. A mission that won’t be a walk in the park, given the large crowd expected around the stadium on July 2 and 4, 2026.

As the RATP notes, « different ways of getting to the Stade de France by public transport make it easy to reach », namely the RER B and D, the metro lines 12, 13 and 14, or the line H of the Transilien.

Planning to arrive by public transport? Here are some practical tips to help you skip the queues around the stadium and get as close as possible to your entry door. Please note that routes vary depending on the stadium entrance indicated on your ticket.

Here are the public transport to prioritise and the recommended routes to reach the Stade de France and to head back more easily depending on your entrance gate. Note that traffic will be interrupted on Thursday, July 2 on the RER B between Châtelet–Les Halles and Mitry–Claye • Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV from 22:45. On the RER D, the service will be halted between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon from 23:15 to 2:00 a.m.

How to get to the Stade de France

• Access to gates A, B, C, D, E, G and H (East of the Stadium): take the RER B toward Mitry – Claye • Aéroport Charles de Gaulle and get off at the station “La Plaine – Stade de France” or opt for Line 12 of the metro, heading “Mairie d’Aubervilliers”, then alight at the station “Front populaire”. Expect about a 10-minute walk from the RER B station and 25 minutes from the metro Line 12 station.
  
  
• Access to gates R and S (North of the Stadium): take the Line 13 of the metro toward “Saint-Denis Université” and get off at the station “Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris”. From there, it’s roughly a 5-minute walk to the Stadium gates.
  
  
• Access to gates T, U, X, Y and Z (Southwest of the Stadium): take the RER D toward Creil and alight at the station “Stade de France – Saint-Denis”, then count about a 10-minute walk from the station to the Stadium gates. Alternatively, prefer the Line 14 of the metro and stop at the station “Saint-Denis – Pleyel”. You’ll then walk about 20 minutes.

Leaving the Stadium and Heading for Paris

• From gates A, B, C, D, E, G, H, X, Y and Z (East of the Stadium): take the RER B (a 10-minute walk) or the Metro Line 12 (about 25 minutes on foot).
• From gates J, K, L, N, R, S, T and U (North of the Stadium): take the Metro Line 13 (a 5-minute walk), heading “Châtillon Montrouge.”
• From gates T, U, X, Y and Z (Southwest of the Stadium): take the RER D (a 10-minute walk) toward “Melun / Malesherbes” or the Metro Line 14 (about 20 minutes on foot).

Moreover, the RATP urges travelers to favor Metro Line 12 and Transilien Line H (which serves Saint-Denis and thus lets you connect to the RER D) to reach the Stade de France; two routes that tend to be less crowded.
