Fans of Céline Dion are eagerly waiting in the wings. The Quebec icon will set up shop on the outskirts of Paris starting September 12, 2026, for a 16-date residency. The Canadian singer will return to the capital on May 8, 2027 for a further run of 10 concerts.
A few days before this big live comeback, France Télévisions announces a special program, featuring an exclusive documentary written and narrated by , titled "There Was a Voice... Céline Dion". For the occasion, the renowned host has chosen an original angle, putting the Quebec singer's distinctive voice under the microscope.
Broadcast on Tuesday, September 8 at 9:10 p.m. on France 2, the documentary sets out to tell Céline Dion’s story through her voice alone. A true artistic signature, the Canadian singer’s voice is a living instrument that is built, honed, and constantly evolving.
Through archives billed as "rare and never-before-seen," as well as standout performances, interviews and original analyses, “Il était une Voix… Céline Dion” offers viewers an immersive dive into the vocal history of Céline Dion.
Fans of Céline Dion will also get to explore sound archives drawn from the two Taratata broadcasts in which Céline Dion performed in 1995 and 1996, as well as from studio sessions. "Restored and digitized, the multi‑track recordings offer an unusually intimate listening experience, revealing the nuances and the presence of her performance, letting you hear only her unique voice," the press release states.
