It was an announcement that U2’s many European fans had been waiting for for a long time. Now it’s official: Bono, The Edge and the rest of the band will indeed return to Europe for live shows in 2027. The Irish group confirmed the news on its social media accounts on October 29.
For this new run of shows, dubbed "Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth", U2 is planning a major world tour, with stops in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Great Britain and Europe, among other destinations. Stockholm, Lisbon, Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Milan are among the cities on the itinerary. In France, don't miss this chance to see U2 again on Wednesday, May 5 and Saturday, May 8, 2027, at the Stade de France. Due to strong demand, a third show has been added on Sunday, May 9, 2027.
As for ticket sales opening, presales are now over. The general sale (for all three Paris dates) begins on Friday, November 6, at 10 a.m.

On September 25, 2026, U2 unveiled the single “Silencio,” from the band’s upcoming album. A few weeks earlier, U2 had already delighted fans by sharing the video for “Streets of Dreams,” the first single from the new record. On October 15, alongside announcing the first dates of the new world tour, U2 shared the video for “The Greatest Show On Earth,” directed by the renowned Anton Corbijn.
This fall, U2 are back with a highly anticipated new album, their 16th, titled "Carnaval de Luz". Due out on November 13, 2026, "Carnaval de Luz" follows "Songs of Experience". Released nine years earlier, the album won over fans in particular with tracks such as « You're the Best Thing About Me », « Get Out of Your Own Way » and « Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way ».
"Carnaval de Luz" will unveil 12 previously unreleased tracks that, according to the band, explore the "themes of spirituality, friendship, freedom and perseverance in the face of dark and threatening forces".
An album that U2 will bring to the stage in 2027 on its new tour. But U2 certainly won’t pass up the chance to perform some of its past hits, too. We’re thinking, of course, of “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “With or Without You,” “Beautiful Day,” “Vertigo,” “New Year’s Day,” “Elevation” and “Where the Streets Have No Name.”
This new tour will mark U2’s long-awaited return to the live stage since the end of their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas in early 2024. The tour is expected to draw a large crowd of fans of the Irish band. In France, don’t miss the dates scheduled for May 5, 8 and 9, 2027, at the Stade de France.
