U2 will indeed return to the Stade de France in 2027 as part of their new world tour, “Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth.” Bono, The Edge and the rest of the band have confirmed two concerts at the iconic venue just outside Paris on May 5 and 8, 2027. For this much-anticipated reunion in Paris, the Irish band won’t be going it alone: they’ve decided to bring along a special guest. So, who is it? Who has been chosen to open for U2 at the Stade de France next spring? We’ve got the answer!

European fans of U2 can finally let their excitement show! On Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Irish band confirmed the European dates for its world tour, "Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth". Having already announced shows in Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires, U2 will now head to the Old Continent for a series of much-anticipated performances in spring and summer 2027. What’s on the schedule? Concerts in Stockholm, Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Milan.

France is also on the itinerary. U2 will perform at the Stade de France on Wednesday, May 5, and Saturday, May 8, 2027, for two massive shows. The band last played in the capital in 2018. That year, Bono and his bandmates gave four sold-out concerts at Bercy in September as part of their "eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour".

U2 at the Stade de France in 2027: who is the opening act?

For this return to the stage, U2 decided to pull out all the stops, inviting different opening acts on each continent. For the shows planned in Mexico and South America, the Irish band asked Beck to open for them.

So, who is the special guest for the European leg of U2’s new tour? Who will have the honor of opening for the Irish band at the Stade de France? It’s Wolf Alice!

Formed in London in 2010 around singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, the rock band—which has been a quartet since 2012—has released four studio albums to date. After putting out "My Love Is Cool" in 2015, followed two years later by "Visions of a Life" and then "Blue Weekend" in 2021, Wolf Alice made a much-anticipated return in 2025 with "The Clearing". The 11-track album won over many listeners, notably with the singles "Bloom Baby Bloom", "The Sofa", "White Horses" and "Just Two Girls".

Wolf Alice has been performing live regularly since 2015. That year, the band played more than 140 concerts around the world. In Paris, the English group has already performed at La Maroquinerie, the Trianon and the Zénith de La Villette. At the end of August, Wolf Alice also stopped by the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud as part of Rock en Seine.

In 2027, Wolf Alice will take on a new challenge. The band will open for U2 on all the UK and European dates. They’ll kick off the festivities at the Stade de France on May 5 and 8, 2027!
