Would you like to discover the riches of the capital's opera houses? Good news: the Tous à l'Opéra operation returns to France this spring, with a new and 18th edition not to be missed on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May 2025.
This year, Tous à l'Opéra will once again be taking you behind the scenes of some of France's finest opera houses, particularly in Paris and the Île-de-France region. What's involved? For three new days, from May 9 to 11, 2025, the public is invited to enjoy a wide range of free events open to all, including open rehearsals, concerts, costume and make-up workshops, backstage tours, meetings with professionals... Please note that some events must be booked in advance, free of charge.
Proof of its success is the fact that, since its inception in 2007, the event has attracted over one and a half million curious onlookers and enthusiasts to the various French opera houses taking part.
This year, the 18th edition of Tous à l'Opéra invites you to push open the doors of more than 20 opera houses in France, including several opera houses and opera companies in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This spring, the Palais Garnier, theOpéra-Comique, theOpéra Royal de Versailles and theOpéra de Massy are once again taking part.
On the program this year?Wig and make-up workshops and a dance class givenby Andrey Klemm at the Opéra national de Paris. At the Opéra-Comique, you can visit the Salle Favart, take a singing lesson or discover costumes. You'll also be able to wander freely around the Opéra Royal at the Château de Versailles, or discover improvisational theater at the Opéra de Massy. Here's the program!

Opéra national de Paris (Palais Garnier)

Free tour of the Palais Garnier's public areas
Exceptionally, free admission to the theater, subject to safety regulations. Last admission at 3.45pm. Theater doors close to the public at 4:15pm.

Wig and Make-up Workshops
Discover the secrets of the arts and crafts, and let yourself be carried away by an immersive stroll. You'll also witness a live metamorphosis through the application of make-up and headdress to four emblematic characters from the repertoire: the Carabosse Fairy, Cio-Cio San or Madame Butterfly, the Frog Platée and Don Quixote.

Dance classes or public barre
In the Grand Foyer of the Palais Garnier: classes given by Andrey Klemm, Compagnie teacher. A pianist accompanies the class. Ages 8 to 99 (minimum two years' experience).
Please note that participants must wear their work clothes under their street clothes. On the feet: socks or half-socks.

Chantons ensemble workshop
For one hour, after a body and vocal warm-up, polyphonic work on songs and canons from all horizons. With Luce Valois, voice and piano teacher, and Lucas Cheng, piano accompanist.

- Foyer de la danse: enjoy a Baroque dance demonstration by the Royal Opera Ballet.
