For lovers of art, architecture and beauty, the Château de Versailles is exceptionally opening its superb Opéra Royal to visitors for the Tous à l'Opéra event from May 10 to 11, 2025.

It's the perfect time to explore this iconic venue for the 18th edition of Tous à l'Opéra, an event organized by the Réunion des Opéras de France. The famous Opéra Royal at the Château de Versailles, inaugurated in 1770 under Louis XV, is a true architectural and historical marvel. Since 2009, it has hosted some one hundred different shows every year, ranging from staged operas to ballets, recitals and theater.

During these two sessions, between 2pm and 6pm on Saturday and 11am and 6pm on Sunday, you'll be able to enjoy heritage and musical events, suitable for all ages. On the program, a free tour of theOpéra Royal will enable you to discover the parterre, the Colonnade, the King's dressing room and the under-stage, as well as the orchestra pit. Instruments such as the harpsichord, organ and spinet will be on display, offering a veritable journey back to the 18th century.

At the same time, opera singing will be in the spotlight at the Grand Foyer de l'Opéra Royal, where the Académie de l'Opéra Royal will be auditioning singers. This institution trains the singers and musicians of tomorrow. In the Foyer Intermédiaire, visitors can learn about Baroque dance, the forerunner of classical ballet.
