An Air Force air show & drone show at the Château de Versailles this summer

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace, an air show awaits the curious and passionate at the Château de Versailles on June 28, 2024. A promising show taking place as part of the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes in the Sun King's gardens.

Every summer, the gardens of the Château de Versailles come alive to the rhythm of baroque music, while the sublime fountains return to service to offer us a charming stroll from grove to grove. By day, the stroll is known as Grandes Eaux musicales; by night, it becomes Grandes Eaux Nocturnes, and takes on a whole new dimension, offering visitors the spectacle of illuminated fountains throughout the evening, culminating in a fireworks display.

Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes returns every Saturday evening from June 8 to September 21, 2024 at the Château de Versailles, as well as on July 14. This summer, there's a special date to take note of for an even more spectacular evening. On June 28, 2024, the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes show at the Château de Versailles will double as an air show to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the French Air Force. To celebrate this anniversary in style, Louis XIV's residence will be the setting for a vertiginous show that can be admired from the gardens designed by André Le Nôtre.

This air show awaits us at 8pm, as if to inaugurate the ball of this key date. For 1h15, thePatrouille de France, Rafale Solo Display, A400M, aerobatic team, parachutists, Caracal helicopter, Biplan Stampe and other Air Force ambassadors take to the skies in what promises to be a high-flying show. But that's not all: at the end of the evening, the traditional Grandes Eaux Nocturnes fireworks display will be accompanied by a drone show that is set to perform "an impressive celestial dance" over the park's Grande Perspective.

The details of the evening:

7pm: Site opening

8pm-9.15pm: Air show by the Ambassadors of the French Air Force

9:15-11:30 pm: Musical stroll through the gardens and groves illuminated by water and light

11:30-11:45 pm: Finale (fireworks and drone show)
