The Joke: a comedy club created by Baptiste Lecaplain in central Paris

The Joke, opened in 2022, is a comedy club created by comedian Baptiste Lecaplain . In an elegant, intimate setting, stand-up professionals and new faces alike can be discovered in Paris's 4th arrondissement.

The Joke is the comedy club not to be missed in central Paris, at 37 rue Quincampoix. Like other comedians such as Jamel Debbouze with the Jamel Comedy Club or Fary with Madame Safarti, Baptiste Lecaplain has opened his own comedy club designed to showcase stand-up personalities.

The comedian' s aim was to create a sober, chic venue. One might think that the aim is not to have the eye drawn to the decor of the place, but to the performing comedian. The idea behind the comedy club is to give the best-known comedians a chance to try out their jokes and new shows, while giving stand-up audiences a taste of them.

The Joke offers a variety of one-hour stand-up series, with 30 sessions a week, Monday to Sunday from 7.15pm and from 3.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The session you'll find most often is "The Joke", which brings together the professionals of the show for 1 hour. There's also a weekly "Comedy News " session, with jokes on current events. Open mic " and "Crash test " sessions are usually held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, so you can discover new talent. On Saturdays, starting at 7:15pm, you can attend the "Hall Of Fame" session, where you're sure to see a host of well-known comedians including Paul Mirabel, Fary, Romain Frayssinet and, of course, Baptiste Lecaplain. For night owls, The Joke offers a"Dirty Joke" session for over-18s from 11pm onwards, usually on Friday and Saturday.

As The Joke is also a bar, you can enjoy a drink during your show. The venue does not, however, offer food. The comedy club also suggests VIP lounges, bookable in advance for a maximum of 5 people, where you can have a privileged view of the show without being seen by others.

Stand-up sessions start at 7.95 euros, with consumption compulsory.
