In Paris, the number of comedy clubs is multiplying, but Umbrella Comedy has chosen not to confine itself to four walls. For seven years, this nomadic comedy club has been taking its mic to venues across the capital with a simple idea: bring comedians closer to their audience and turn a stand-up night into a true moment of sharing.

Today, two weekly highlights shape the week: Mondays in Pigalle and Wednesdays in Odéon.

Two neighborhoods, two vibes, under the same umbrella.

And above all, a goal: to offer the Parisian afterwork like no other, where you can arrive before the show for a drink, laugh together during the performance, and stay afterward to mingle, meet the artists, or simply get to know new people.

A nomadic comedy club that started seven years ago

Umbrella Comedy sprang from a simple wish: to create a gathering where fellow artists could reconnect, have a stage to perform on, and for the audience to discover fresh faces in comedy.

The venture unfolded over seven years and is now enriched by a merger with the BlaBlaShow, created by the same team.

Over the years, many comedians have joined this venture, including Elena Nagapetyan, Tony Saint Laurent, Sofia Belabbes, Jean-Benoît Diallo, Adel Fugazi, Kamel Djibaoui, Sofiane Soch, Richard Sabak, and Nadège 100 Gêne, alongside many other artists.

But at Umbrella Comedy, the name isn't everything.

The concept also rests on discovery, emergence and surprise. Some artists come to develop new material, others are on the rise, while guests may round out the lineups.

You can swing by without knowing the full lineup and leave with a fresh act to keep an eye on.

Mondays in Pigalle: Open Mic at 7pm, Comedy Club at 9pm

To kick off the week, we're headed to Monkey Pigalle, at 53 Rue Jean-Baptiste Pigalle in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

Every Monday at 7pm, Umbrella Comedy hosts its Open Mic.

Here, stand-up feels like a laboratory. Comedians come to try out new jokes, polish their routines, and immediately gauge the audience's reactions.

For audiences, it’s a chance to peek behind the scenes of how humor is crafted and, perhaps, to witness the early showcase of a talent who would soon be making waves in the months ahead.

Then, at 9 p.m., it’s time for the Umbrella Comedy Club.

For about an hour, a string of comedians lines up at the mic in an intimate setting. Emerging acts, rising talents, seasoned comedians—and the occasional surprise—share the same stage.

And with just a few metres separating the audience from the performers, the interactions quickly become part of the show.

A single glance, a reply from the audience, or an improvised moment can completely alter the course of a scene.

On Wednesdays, stand-up continues at Tennessee near Odéon

Not keen on waiting until next Monday?

Every Wednesday, Umbrella Comedy crosses to the Left Bank and sets up its mic at the Tennessee, at 12 rue André Mazet in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, just steps from Odéon and Saint‑Michel.

Tennessee already boasts a thriving live-performance culture, with regular concerts, open mics, and jam sessions hosted by the venue.

This time, from 7:00 to 8:15 PM, it's stand-up.

For 1h15, several comedians take the mic with the same mindset: fresh talent, rising stars, established names, interaction with the audience, and surprise guests.

The lineup also invites audiences to imagine the evening in a different way.

You can meet up with friends or colleagues after work, grab a drink before the show, catch the performance, and hang around afterward to keep the night going.

And you don’t have to come with a plus-one.

Umbrella Comedy also aims to recapture the vibe of places where people talk to each other: come alone, with colleagues or with friends, share a hearty laugh with the person next to you and perhaps make new connections before or after the show.
