The Apollo Théâtre, located a stone's throw from the Place de la République at 18 rue du Faubourg du Temple, replaced the Théâtre du Temple in December 2014. In just ten years, the new theater, taken over by Philippe Delmas and Michel Tiberini, has become a fixture on the Paris comedy scene. A succession of stand-ups, one-man shows, comedies...
The Théâtre du Temple was created in 1782 and was considered the first permanent circus in Paris. Unfortunately, the theater burned down in 1826, and a cinema was built there in the early 20th century. The cinema disappeared in 2003, to be replaced by theaters that still exist today.
The Apollo Théâtre has four theaters with capacities ranging from 72 to 300 seats. With a program focused on stand-up, one-man shows and comedies, the theater's stages play host to a host of comedy stars, including Jean-Luc Lemoine and Rachid Badouri. Apollo Théâtre stands out for its innovative technologies. They even offered interactive live streams during confinement, to critical acclaim.
