Following its success at the Théâtre Montparnasse, Next time you’ll bite the dust, Panayotis Pascot’s book adapted for the stage and directed for the theatre by Paul Pascot, returns to Paris for new dates. The play, a winner at the Molières 2025 awards, will run at the Trianon from December 19, 2026 to January 2, 2027, with rising French cinema star Vassili Schneider.

In his autobiographical novel, Panayotis Pascot explores three themes: depression, the father-son relationship, and coming to terms with his homosexuality. The comedian shares his late-night thoughts with readers in an unfiltered manner. The book doesn’t have a traditional beginning or end; it flows with scattered musings, free from artifice. Next Time, You’ll Bite the Dust is a candid reflection on his life, infused with humor and tenderness, featuring the youngest sibling of the Schneider family.

Paul Pascot, adaptor and stage director of the book, is Panayotis Pascot’s brother. A project that feels like a family affair, in which Paul Pascot should invest as much emotion as his brother did in his roman. On stage, you’ll meet Vassili Schneider, the breakout star from the Count of Monte Cristo, but also actor Yann Pradal. The next time you’ll bite the dust, the adaptation of Panayotis Pascot’s book by Paul Pascot is to be staged at the Trianon in December 2026!

Our review:

Rarely do you see such a jam-packed theater teeming with young people! Featuring a play that echoes the issues many young people face today, and starring Vassily Schneider in the lead role, Paul Pascot shows us how to fill an entire house.

Vassily Schneider delivers a brilliant and touching performance in this semi-autobiographical story that plays with our emotions. Although the show feels almost like a one-man show, Yann Pradal provides a stellar counterpoint, and, most importantly, moves us to tears with the conflicting feelings he tries to convey to his son. The play might have a few slow moments, but they are quickly overshadowed by a lively, colorful, and again, deeply emotional production. Without revealing too much about the staging, it's worth noting that your experience may vary depending on where you sit in the theater.

Whether you've read Panayotis Pascot's book or not, this play is a must-see. Beyond the somewhat superficial moments in the text, we're captivated and fascinated by Paul Pascot's direction and by Vassily Schneider's compelling performance. It's clear why the play resonates with young audiences, and we hope this momentum continues!
