What if you went to see a play that pushes the boundaries of traditional theatre? The play Taxi Story offers a visual and sensory experience to discover at La Folie Théâtre from March 13, 2026.

Want to experience theater somewhere other than a traditional stage? Zone 34 to the rescue with their new show Taxi Story. The troupe Zone 34 brings this fresh piece to life, now playing at La Folie Théâtre since March 13, 2026. It overturns the conventions of conventional theatre, conceived as a fully immersive visual and auditory experience.

In Taxi Story, a lonely cab driver embarks on a journey through time in an attempt to save his love. Saturday, September 22, 2018: Léo and Julie are each in a reality that keeps them apart; Friday, September 13, 2013: Julie enters Léo's cab for the first time. Five years have passed, but what have they really experienced in all that time? This visual and aural experience blurs the boundaries between past and present, and introduces us to an innovative and promising form of theater.

The play takes a step back from theater and moves closer to cinema, with the actors facing a mirror but their backs to the audience. The lighting effects and music will envelop the audience in an atmosphere that is both intense and intimate, reinforced by a deliberately limited capacity of just 16 people.

Our review :

An artistic choice deftly executed by Zone 34. Once you step into their space, you’re led into a room where two actors are already waiting, seated on two chairs facing a mirror. You take a seat opposite that mirror in the softly lit room, and the play begins! The spectator experiences the piece from two angles: watching the actors or gazing into the mirror—a truly unusual staging that opens the show on a high note.

We’re quickly carried away by the story of the two protagonists: we witness a series of scenes from their lives, and a narrative comes to life before our eyes. The intimacy of the small venue invites you to truly enter their world and feel their emotions. The performances of the two actors ( Cyril Durel and Naima Maurel ) are impressive and will transport you through their powerful tale. If you’re looking for a theatre experience that breaks the mold, Taxi Story is absolutely worth discovering.
