"Rêver, rire, passer" (Dream, laugh, pass), a creation based on Cyrano with Jacques Weber and José-Antonio Pereira, can be seen at the Théâtre de la Pépinière from January 29, 2026.

From January 29, 2026,the Théâtre de la Pépinière will host Rêver, rire, passer, a new creation by Jacques Weber, who revisits his intimate and long-standing connection with the character of Cyrano de Bergerac. The actor revisits the role that marked his career in 1983 at the Théâtre Mogador, questioning what this emblematic figure has become for him over time. This production falls within the field of live performance and highlights an introspective approach that brings artistic memory and theatrical heritage into dialogue at the heart of the Parisian stage.

Directed by Christine Weber and José-Antonio Pereira, the play is based on a minimalist set design in which Jacques Weber performs alongside José-Antonio Pereira, his rehearsal coach, collaborator, and acting partner. Together, they explore the main themes ofEdmond Rostand's text in an intimate adaptation conceived by Christine Weber. The staging emphasizes exchange, the flow of memories, and transmission, in an exploration of the myth of Cyrano that is part of a 2025 creative dynamic focused on reinterpreting the classics.

The artistic team brings together Michel Dussarat for costumes, Pierre Routin for sound, Thibault Vincent for lighting, and Emmanuelle Favre for set design. Together, they structure a space where autobiographical narrative, fragments of the original text, and reflections on the acting profession intersect. By revisiting his own career, Jacques Weber continues the Parisian theater tradition of questioning the great figures of the repertoire while re-inscribing them in a contemporary context. The play is aimed as much at lovers of the classics as at audiences curious about a personal take on an iconic character.

The production, supported by the Théâtre de la Pépinière, ACME, and the Théâtre du Train Bleu, lies at the intersection of the history of the role, stage practice, and narrative performance. It highlights how a heritage text continues to inhabit an artist and nourish current creation. The show can be seen at the Théâtre de la Pépinière from January 29, 2026.
