The Théâtre à la Minute unveils a new program for the end of the year with the cycle Tout va bien… ou presque, a series of short formats in keeping with the immersive and intimate spirit of this venue, which opened in May 2024. Inspired by a Spanish concept that has spread widely around the world, the space founded in France by Cuban-Spanish actress Miriel Cejas offers a live performance experience based on short stories, performed for small groups and designed for maximum proximity to the artists.
Each evening features four plays lasting around fifteen minutes, performed in four different rooms measuring between 9 and 12 square meters. Between each performance, the audience enjoys a short break before moving to another room, discovering a new set design and a new theme without any participatory intervention. The setup encourages a direct relationship with the performers, at the heart of an experience that also includes a dining area, a central bar, exhibitions, and occasional performances. This organization helps make the venue an original destination on the Parisian scene.
The Tout va bien… ou presque cycle explores the fragile boundary between apparent normality and inner chaos. Through four independent works—Papi, tu as gagné le Loto !, Dégoupillés, Je suis au top, and Service Après Vie— the program tackles everyday situations that suddenly take a turn, revealing doubts, contradictions, humor, and fragilities. The collection adopts a variety of tones, from family comedy to administrative fantasy, while maintaining a thematic unity around the loss of control and the truths that emerge despite ourselves.
In Service Après Vie, written and directed by Estelle Courret and Marion Germain, an unexpected encounter propels Aurore into a kind of administrative post-mortem tinged with irony. The trio of Charlie Quatrefages, Lou Jarnot, and Marion Germain embody this comedy of the afterlife, where bureaucracy becomes a pretext for a cosmic journey. With Je suis au top, Laurent Cyr and Astrid Ortmans have created a comedy centered on a couple in a sauna, questioning desire and relationship norms through a tight stage setup. The two artists also perform and direct the play.
The play Dégoupillés, written by L.-J. Wagner and directed by Miriel Cejas and Roger Herrera, brings together six performers around a family dinner where unspoken truths are revealed, destabilizing the group's equilibrium. Finally, Papi, tu as gagné le Loto ! (Grandpa, you've won the lottery!), written and directed by Miriel Cejas, highlights a family faced with good news that disappears as quickly as it appears, performed by Youri Filstein-Dando, Jairo Mejias, and Jean-Louis Tribes.
This program helps to reinforce the identity of the Théâtre à la Minute, which is developing a range of quick, immersive, and accessible cultural outings aimed at both curious visitors and regular theatergoers. It is part of a dynamic of constant renewal, offering short productions that explore contemporary themes through miniature but demanding stage sets. The cycle Tout va bien… ou presque (Everything's fine... or almost) can be discovered at the Théâtre à la Minute starting December 5.
