On a dating site, Claire goes by Augustine. The man she is chatting with calls himself Ken. As long as they stay behind their screens, each can embellish their story. Meeting in person changes everything: how do you introduce yourself to someone who thinks they already know you? That’s the starting point for Ken, or How to Meet the Man of Your Life?, the romantic comedy starring Corinne Touzet that is stopping off in Île-de-France.
In Emmanuel Robert-Espalieu’s play, Claire is 60 and discovers the ins and outs of online dating. The comedy grows out of her hesitations and the details she makes up to give herself confidence. The gap between Claire and her digital alter ego fuels the misunderstandings, raising a question that goes beyond how apps work: what can you say about yourself when you still want to be attractive and already have a whole life behind you?
Directed by Virginie Lemoine, the play stars Stéphane Giletta opposite Corinne Touzet, with an original score by Stéphane Corbin. After premiering at the 2025 Avignon Off Festival, it continues its tour following performances in Seine-et-Marne. The Atelier Théâtre Actuel, the show’s co-producer, presents the creative team and trailer.
The tour also offers a glimpse of another side of Corinne Touzet’s work: she plays Claire in Ken and co-produces Déni, Sophie Cottin’s play at the Théâtre de Paris, in which she does not perform.
