That's whyAtelier des Lumières is offering us a real journey back in time, to discover theEgypt of the Pharaohs, from Khéops to Ramsès II. This unique, immersive exhibition takes us on an epic journey through three millennia, encountering numerous rulers and a rich culture. Join us from February 9, 2024 to January 5, 2025 to take part in this exceptional journey.
Our adventure at Atelier des Lumières begins with the Egyptian gods, creators of the world and its elements. According to the myths, these original gods change, and beliefs clash around these fundamental stories. These all-powerful beings are revealed all around us, on the walls of the museum, until mankind takes possession of the Earth.
Life then gradually unfolds in Egypt, following the course of the Nile. Floods and agriculture, flora and fauna, water as the source of life: the banks of this essential river are the heart of Egypt.
It's impossible, of course, not to mention the pyramids and monuments that adorn the country. These eternal sites are built before our very eyes, revealing a few architectural secrets along the way... These tombs are dedicated to the great pharaohs who built Egypt: Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Khafren, Hatshepsut, Nefertari, Thutmosis III, Akhenaten, Khufu, Nefertiti and many others have contributed to the fame of this nation. Memorable battles and wars, clothes, jewels, ships and palaces revealing the wealth and power of the rulers, great architectural projects: centuries after their deaths, these elements continue to keep their name and history alive.
L'Atelier des Lumières also takes us to the country's major cities, to discover Egypt's spiritual, cultural and political centers. Festivals and processions, cults, tributes: divinities are celebrated in every corner, at every moment, and revealed in monumental, colorful works.
