The Fondation Cartier presents Indian architect Bijoy Jain, founder of Studio Mumbai. In a surprising and poetic exhibition, the artist draws us into his universe of matter, nature and man. From December 9 2023 to April 21 2024, come and discover the exhibition Le souffle de l'architecte.
Bijoy Jain offers us an unusual sensory experience, with an itinerary that invites us to daydream, stroll and contemplate. During the visit, time stands still, allowing us to enjoy this moment of tranquillity, immersed in nature. Through materials and forms, the architect seeks to create unique spaces that connect people with nature and their emotions.
Bijoy Jain's creation, designed especially for this exhibition, enters into a dialogue with thecontemporary art center: lights, materials and lines respond to each other, enriching each other to give a deeper dimension to the building, as to the work.
The exhibition route is also enriched by the creations of ceramist Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye: this artist's sculptures add a little more sensitivity, resonance and beauty to this installation. The colors, patterns and lines reproduced on the ceramics are inspired by nature, plants and the movements seen outdoors. This inspiration can also be found in the work of architect Bijoy Jain, who sees the world as an ever-changing landscape in which stories meet and mingle.
