Paolo Roversi: the fashion photographer reveals himself in a new exhibition at the Palais Galliera

The play of light and shadow, a universe somewhere between fantasy and surrealism, fascinating works: Paolo Roversi is unquestionably one of the most gifted fashion photographers of his generation. His reputation and expertise have made him one of the world's best-known and most appreciated artists. That's why he's the focus of the Palais Galliera's new exhibition.

The Paris fashion museum is organizing a major retrospective of Paolo Roversi's work. Running from March 16 to July 14, 2024, the exhibition looks back over the artist's 50-year career, from his apprenticeship in Bologna to his latest successes, including publications in Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire, and collaborations with fashion designers such as Yohji Yamamoto, Romeo Gigli, Rei Kawakubo...

A total of 140 photographs, archives, unpublished prints, Polaroids, magazines and catalogs are on show in this exhibition, which is plunged into darkness, as if in a photographic chamber. The Palais Galliera has reconstructed the artist's studio, allowing us to discover his creative process, his rich and colorful imagination, the highlights of his career...
