The cultural center L'Italie à Paris, located in the 11th arrondissement, invites you to discover its latest exhibition, entitled La Ville Imaginaire, from January 20 to March 16, 2024. An artistic journey inspired by Italo Calvino's work, "Les Villes Invisibles", bringing together international artists and exploring the themes of urbanism and city life through a variety of works.

The city, its imaginary, even fantasized visions, and its representation in art... This is what visitors can expect at the L'Italie cultural center in Paris' 11th arrondissement, with theexhibition La Ville Imaginaire, on view from January 20 to March 16, 2024. The exhibition is based onItalo Calvino's text The Invisible Cities, and invites artists to share their vision - conscious or unconscious - of the city, whether real, fantasized or imaginary, as well as their vision of urban life, with the aim of highlighting the complexity and beauty of urban spaces.

This unique exhibition brings together works by artists from New York, San Francisco, Paris, Rome and Turin, offering a rich and varied panorama of urban life. Their creations, ranging from drawings and collages to photography and assemblages, reflect the diversity and poetry of cities, both real and imagined. It's a genuine dialogue between art and urbanism, and even a questioning of our relationship with the cities we live in and those we dream of.

The exhibition's curators, David Prowler and Clara Rizzitelli, have carefully selected works that question the nature of our interactions with the urban environment. Among the artists on show are Daniele Catalli, France Dumas, James Miles, Lance Rivers and others, all forming an interesting mosaic of perspectives and experiences.

In short, a window onto the different ways in which artists perceive and interpret cities. And an opportunity to explore cities through artists' eyes, and perhaps even rediscover your own relationship with urban space. Shall we drop in to the L'Italie cultural center in Paris?
