JEMA 2026: the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Garden showcase their artisans in Paris

During the European Heritage Crafts Days, the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Garden will open their art workshops to the public free of charge on the weekend of April 11 and 12, 2026.

Every year, a truly special event allows us to explore the world of crafts, those artisanal professions that require exceptional expertise and traditional, highly specialized knowledge. Taking place from April 7 to 12, 2026, the European Days of Crafts open up a multitude of art venues and workshops, giving visitors the chance to meet master artisans in fields such as watchmaking, jewelry, ceramics, leatherworking, gardening, and carpentry. As you can see, these special occasions are packed with opportunities for discovery!

These Journées des métiers d'art (or JEMA) give us free access to over 500 events in Paris and the Île-de-France region. And among them, appointments with craftspeople at the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Gardens !

Paris’s most famous museum is inviting visitors to meet its artisans on April 11 and 12. Special workshops and guided tours offer a closer look at the skilled hands behind the museum’s renowned collection and the preservation of its priceless treasures. Be sure to note that reservation is essential: tickets go on sale on March 31 at 3 p.m. Don’t wait too long—places are limited and this event is sure to fill up fast!

The 2026 Heritage and Craft Days Program at the Louvre and Tuileries

  • Art Studio Tours – Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, at 9:30 AM and 2:10 PM

Join a guided tour and get to meet the skilled artisans behind the Louvre. Discover the craftsmanship of lighting designers, gilders and frame makers, installers, marble workers, carpenters and cabinetmakers, metalworkers, decorators, upholsterers, graphic art installers, and the dedicated team supporting the museum's display and preservation efforts.

Visit duration: 3 hours 20 minutes  (Note: the ticket only grants access to the art workshops. Entrance to the museum's collections and exhibitions is not included in this reservation.)

  • Tour of the Tuileries Garden with the Artistic Gardeners – Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Join us for a guided tour of the Tuileries Garden with our master gardeners, who will showcase traditional techniques that are still relevant today. Discover how the management of this historic park evolves to foster greater biodiversity.

Tour duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Please note: visits may be canceled in case of bad weather.
