Designated as an LPO (Bird Protection League) refuge, the Jardin des Bergeronnettes des ruisseaux in Pontoise is once again participating in the Rendez-vous aux Jardins event! As a reminder, this annual celebration encourages Parisians, Île-de-France residents, and the general French public to explore and rediscover the region’s numerous gardens. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities—most of which are free—highlighting the beauty and diversity of France's outdoor spaces.
This year, the event runs from June 2 to June 4, 2023. At the Jardin des Bergeronnettes des Ruisseaux, you'll have the chance to visit on Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4, exclusively with the owner. He also invites you to try your hand at making birdhouses, followed by a chance to learn how to identify various bird species through an exhibition loaned by the LPO.
By the way, just for the fun of it, do you know what a nuthatch is? It’s a small bird with gray and yellow plumage that loves to nest in the summer around Cergy-Pontoise and wander along the banks of the Viosne River!
