This year, the 2025 edition of the Fête de la Laine falls just in time for the 2023 Easter vacations. So don't miss the chance to spend an afternoon with the sheep at Parc Georges Valbon, in La Courneuve, from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday April 7.
The Fête de la Laine always takes place in spring, when the sheep need to shed their thick woollen fur to get through the summer. So, every year, the festival gives the general public the chance not only to watch the various shearing demonstrations free of charge, but also to get their hands dirty in a wool weaving workshop.
The initiative comes from Clinamen, a farmers' association that defends dignified animal husbandry practices, whose flock is based in the Parc Georges Valbon in Seine-Saint-Denis. With around a hundred individuals in their sheepfold, the association's urban shepherds look after the sheep on a daily basis: in fact, they welcomedtwo babies this year, something that hadn't happened in the flock for two years! Join us on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2pm to 6pm, to discover this year's Fête de la Laine with the whole family!
