In recent years, knitting and embroidery have experienced a real revival! On February 14 and 15, 2026, the 9th edition of the Wool Festival aims to unveil all the secrets of yarn through an eco-friendly festival, free to attend. This event brings artisans, merchants, breeders, designers, and the general public together for a celebration of wool.
Those with a curious spirit can try their hand at various techniques during workshops that require a fee. These take place at different locations around Malakoff, such as Jean Jaurès School, the Urban Farm, Le Toboggan, or La Tréso, a cooperative community space housed in a former Paris hospital headquarters.
About fifty exhibitors will showcase their products in knitting, crochet, felting, embroidery, tapestry, and more. They’ll also highlight their exceptional craftsmanship, rooted in a rich French tradition. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore the art of textile crafts over a weekend, with a variety of activities including a fashion show, a raffle, a creative performance, and two insightful conferences: "Untangling Patriarchy, Knitting the Future" and "The Challenges of the Wool Industry in the Age of Globalization".
A "design reveal" evening invites visitors to discover a mysterious knitting pattern, while during the fashion show, the audience can showcase what they’ve knitted, crocheted, or woven using materials purchased at the previous event. Meanwhile, exhibitors will reveal their creative talents!
An area is also dedicated to the little ones to introduce children to the joys of knitting: lapel pins, pom-poms, wool collage, making hairbands—providing a perfect entry point for young crafters! While most workshops for adults come with a fee, a free session is always available, led by volunteers.
