Rendez-vous aux Jardins is the long-awaited event for nature and culture enthusiasts in the Île-de-France region of France! For one weekend, from May 31 to June 2, 2024, a large number of public and private gardens will be opening their doors for visits, activities and concerts... entirely free and open to all! An opportunity to discover exceptional, little-known, secret or unusual gardens, opening their doors during this not-to-be-missed event!
The Jardin du Roi de Rome, which encircles the eponymous palace in Rambouillet, is a botanical jewel in an exceptional historical setting. This beautiful French garden was created several centuries ago, in the 19th century, by order of Napoleon I, in homage to his son, the King of Rome. Today, it is a listed historic monument, with astonishing geometric parterres, tree-lined paths and a central pond. The clarinet ensemble from the Gabriel Fauré Conservatory, directed by their teacher Magali Grillard, offers a musical moment with an eclectic program and a rural tone, in keeping with the theme of this weekend.
Family discovery tour and treasure hunt Follow a guide as she leads you from the Jardin de la Motte to the Jardin du Roi de Rome, answering questions and challenges as a family. You'll need to use your senses and your powers of observation. This treasure hunt has been organized in partnership with the Centre des monuments nationaux.
