Visit the gardens of the Palais de Tokyo, on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, for the new edition of Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024.

Located in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, the Palais de Tokyo appears to be a modern museum in the heart of a very urban capital. But appearances can be deceiving, and the Palais de Tokyo can hide some unexpected secrets... Visit Europe's largest contemporary art center and discover its little-known gardens, during the Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024 event , on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2.

Rendez-vous aux jardins is an annual event organized by the French Ministry of Culture since 2003. The aim of the event is to highlight the richness and diversity of France's parks and gardens, enabling the general public to rediscover these islands of nature through visits and activities that combine art, culture and nature. The theme of this year's Rendez-vous aux jardins is"The Five Senses".

This is the perfect opportunity to visit the Jardin aux Habitants, designed by artist Robert Milin on land adjacent to the Palais de Tokyo. This little haven of peace on rue de la Manutention is a delight for amateur gardeners, who cultivate their own little plot of land to reflect their personalities.

The program for this year's Rendez-vous aux jardins at the Palais de Tokyo:

  • In the clouds" workshop
    June 1 and 2

Imagine that everything you can think of is spinning in the sky. Look up at the clouds and you'll see incredible shapes and colors. Come and create flying sculptures to send your dreams into the air during a weightless workshop based around the season's exhibitions.

  • Climate music" workshop
    June 1 and 2

A musical composition workshop to explore the sonic possibilities of water in all its forms. You'll build miniature gardens that will become musical instruments thanks to a system of sound tables. You'll also be able to take home your own islands full of seeds, which will grow wherever you drop them.

  • "Big visit" to the gardens
    June 1 and 2

Although the Palais de Tokyo, a gigantic block of marble and concrete, is not known for its gardens, this tour will take you to its hidden gardens, both inside and out. You'll explore Mohamed Bourouissa's community garden at the heart of his "Signal" exhibition, as well as Chloé Bensahel's sonorous tapestries made from woven invasive plants. The visit continues outside, in the Palais de Tokyo's oldest work: the Jardin aux habitant-es, which brings together amateur gardeners to maintain a shared garden, forming for over 20 years a singular community organized around a collective and artistic plant process imagined by Robert Millin.

Book your weekend in Paris, and treat yourself to an original stroll. A walk through nature and art that promises to make your day!
