On the program: take part in historical guided tours, discovery walks, take part in creative workshops, enjoy entertainment for all, concerts... From June 31 to 2, 2024, you've got a whole selection of great outings to do, to spend the day in the fresh air, with the kids, with friends or on your own: all you have to do is make your choice!
The Bièvre is a small, picturesque river in the Val-de-Marne department, starting at Cachan, south-east of Paris. Once a means of transport and a source of energy for mills, today the Bièvre is above all a natural treasure that must be preserved. As you follow its course, you'll pass along its banks, lined with vegetation and inhabited by a variety of birds and wildlife. To do so, follow the shaded footpaths (marked along the way), pack a picnic lunch, a cap and sun cream: off you go for an easy hike, full of wonderful discoveries! As you explore the area around the Bièvre, you'll also discover historic sites, mill remains and picturesque bridges. The perfect way to combine culture and nature at Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024!
Dive into the history of the Bièvre, a shallow but storied river in the Ile-de-France region!
This 36 km-long river has seen its waters sometimes polluted by artisanal and industrial activities, sometimes buried under embankments. Today, the river is being reopened on numerous occasions (in L'Haÿ-les-Roses in 2016, in Arcueil and Gentilly in 2022). Let's retrace the path of the Bièvre in Cachan and discover the traces it has left and how it has shaped the landscape. This urban valley offers many panoramic views. Dotted with pavilions and gardens, the hillsides are home to a strong natural presence. The aqueducts, part of a vast network supplying water to Paris, are monuments to this.
