Until August 31, 2023, stop by the Maison de Chateaubriand in the Hauts-de-Seine region on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons to read in the shade of the large chestnut tree in the Vallée-aux-Loups estate. The Maison de Chateaubriand has joined forces with the Châtenay-Malabry media library to offer the public a free open-air reading salon, with a wide range of activities for all ages.
Bring your own book, or relax on the deckchairs and blankets under the tree planted by the writer himself. Now owned by the département, the site offers the chance to immerse yourself in the romantic world of François-René de Chateaubriand, while enjoying the immense grounds. To round off this summer event, a giant cluedo will be held on August 27, during which you'll have to transform yourself into a detective to find the murderer in a thrilling investigation.
If it's raining, don't worry, the reading room and events will continue to take place under a tent. Don't forget to reserve your place!
