Named after French botanist Pierre Magnol, magnolias bloom between March and April. They are very old flowers, first recorded 65 million years ago, and are frost-resistant! They can be found just about anywhere in Paris, notably near the Eiffel Tower, at the beginning of the Champ de Mars.
For guaranteed views, head to the Parc Floral de Paris, a must-see for plant and flower lovers, tucked away from the city buzz in the 12th arrondissement. You can also catch gorgeous magnolias at the Nelson Mandela Park.
Magnolias can also be found in the Jardin du Palais Royal, next to the Louvre. This garden often goes unnoticed, as tourists prefer to photograph themselves in front of Buren's Columns.
But surrounded by its beautiful arcades, it's home to sublime magnolias, particularly well cared for. The better-known Jardin des Tuileries is also home to these beautiful flowers in spring, between two fountains!
