The Tuileries Christmas Market reopens its lanes from November 6, 2026 to January 8, 2027. Part market, part amusement fair, it returns to the Tuileries Garden in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, nestled between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. The team behind this publication, which has followed the event since its arrival in the garden, has watched it grow in popularity across editions, appealing to both families and tourists.
This edition runs over a longer period than the previous one. Last year, the market opened on November 15, 2025 and closed on January 4, 2026. This time it starts more than two weeks earlier and extends until the day after Epiphany.
At the latest edition, nearly 80 wooden chalets were spread across the garden’s pathways. The site benefits from being away from traffic, with a pedestrian route lined with attractions and Christmas displays.
On the shopping front, last year the offering brought together a curated selection of gift ideas, with a notable emphasis on artisans and French-made products.
Food services form a substantial portion of the market. In 2025, the stalls featured regional specialties from across the country—Alsace, Brittany, Savoie, Auvergne—and even the Antilles. The lineup of stalls for the 2026 edition has not yet been announced by the organizers.
The rides take up a large portion of the site, from thrill-inducing attractions to carousels for the tiniest visitors. In past editions, an ice rink of roughly 250 m² was also set up, and Santa Claus was on site. Whether they’ll be back in 2026 remains to be confirmed.
Last year, a free show focused on the Magic Forest ran on Saturdays and Sundays, then every day during the school holidays. A singer and his cast of characters sang about the forest animals’ Christmas.
The market takes place in the Jardin des Tuileries, just steps from the Louvre Museum, in the 1st arrondissement. It is accessible by metro via Tuileries station (line 1) and Concorde (lines 1, 8 and 12). Entry is free, with rides, shopping and food still paying. The 2026 edition’s hours have not yet been announced. For reference, last year the market was open daily from 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., with early closures on December 24 and 31. Our guide to the Louvre-Rivoli, Palais-Royal and Tuileries neighborhood lists other outings in the area.
Note: crowds are especially heavy on December weekends. Weeknights and the early part of November typically offer a more relaxed visit.
The Tuileries Christmas Market is especially geared toward families, offering a blend of rides and chalets all in one place, along with regional delicacies that attract visitors. This year, the return of the Champs-Élysées market adds a new draw to the area: both sites are walkable in a single outing, taking in the Place de la Concorde and the festive glow along the avenue.
The winter of 2026 marks a turning point. After nearly a decade away, the Christmas Market on the Champs-Élysées is back, running from November 22, 2026 to January 4, 2027. It will take up residence on the lower stretch of the avenue, in the 8th arrondissement, near the Concorde side.
This return closes a chapter opened in 2018. That year, the fairground stalls moved off the avenue to set up their chalets at the Tuileries. The two markets are reuniting this winter, each on opposite sides of the Place de la Concorde, just a short walk apart.
According to franceinfo, the Champs-Élysées project plans to spotlight crafts, creators from Île-de-France, and regional specialties, with a particular emphasis on affordable pricing and the visual appeal of the installations. The number of chalets, the roster of exhibitors, and the program of activities have not yet been announced.
In the Hauts-de-Seine, the La Défense Christmas Market sets up its chalets on the forecourt of the business district. For a complete panorama of the capital’s festive happenings, our guide “Noël 2026 à Paris : les marchés de Noël confirmés par arrondissement” takes stock district by district.
