The Parc Astérix, located in Plailly in the Oise, just about thirty kilometers north of Paris, is reopening on April 4, 2026 for a transitional season packed with exciting new features. As part of an ambitious development plan through 2028 backed by €250 million in investments, the park is steadily making progress, zone by zone. Construction zones will be visible across the site, but visitors won't be short of things to enjoy. Here's a glimpse of what's in store throughout the year.
It’s been three years in the making — a stark contrast to Cleopatra’s alleged three-month reign. By 2026, the Egyptian zone will finally complete its lengthy phase of gradual expansion. After revealing the Tomb of the Gods in 2023, followed by Numérobis Tower and P'Oz Kebab in 2024, then Les Fastes du Nil and its bustling souk in 2025, the area continues to grow this season with two major updates.
The Oxygénarium is rebranding as the Nile Descent, immersing visitors in watery adventures along the sacred river, with new thematic touches added to the queue lines and boarding stations.
The Flying Chairs are completing their transformation, which began in 2025, into L'Envol d'Ibis. They now feature a charming water feature and lush greenery, creating a delightful new setting.
Starting in June, the restaurant Le Cirque will be rebranded as Les Comptoirs d'Epidemaïs, paying tribute to the Phoenician merchant from the comic book. Its new culinary offerings will draw inspiration from his global adventures. A cohesive and stunning Egyptian-themed quarter is gradually emerging, with more developments to follow.
Beyond the new Egyptian-themed areas, the park continues to deliver plenty of thrills. Cétautomatix, the family spinning coaster launched in August 2025, remains a crowd favorite with its rotating cars accessible from just one meter in height. For the more daring, Toutatis speeds along at 107 km/h over a track longer than a kilometer. The Tonnerre 2 Zeus, with its unique 90° inclined hill that’s the only one of its kind in Europe, continues to impress. It's worth noting that the much-criticized ride for its comfort issues will undergo continuous rail replacements through 2027, all while remaining open to visitors.
And standing at 40 meters tall, the Númerobis Tower with its exhilarating 360-degree rotation remains one of the park’s most thrilling attractions. On the entertainment side, the musical comedy at the Panoramix Theater, the Olympic Dives, and Riffraff in the Barnyard are still part of the lineup, along with the Gaul Parade featuring its characteristic Spanish-style float.
For entertainment, don’t miss the musical comedy at the Théâtre de Panoramix, seating 600 and featuring energetic singer-actors, or the Olympus Diving Shows at the Théâtre de Poséidon, where eight athletes battle it out with spectacular stunts. The show Du Rififi dans la Basse-cour delights audiences of all ages with daring stunts and farmyard animals. And of course, the Gaulish Parade with its colorful floats, including the Spanish-themed chariot starring Pépé and Soupalognon y Crouton, keeps the crowds entertained along the paths all day long.
During the summer months, opening hours extend until 10 p.m. from mid-July to the end of August, and this season promises a delightful surprise for regular visitors. In 2025, the traditional fireworks display quietly disappeared from the summer lineup, much to the disappointment of dedicated fans of the Gaul Summer. But in 2026, it makes a spectacular comeback in an entirely new form: a brand-new show above the lake, running every evening from July 11 to August 30. Featuring a captivating blend of drones, fountains, lasers, and pyrotechnics, the show will tell a story set in the world of Asterix. It's a first for the park, opening up exciting new storytelling and visual possibilities.
It's also the season for water rides, with La Revanche des Pirates and Menhir Express offering a refreshing break between attractions. Don't forget your swimsuit. The Gaulish Feast typically makes its grand return in July and August, allowing visitors to dine in the heart of the village alongside Astérix and Obélix, enjoying a buffet in a lively, festive atmosphere.
For its Halloween 2026 edition, Parc Astérix is pulling out all the stops with no less than four new attractions. It’s not surprising, given that the removal of the Paris Street, demolished to make way for the upcoming Londinium in 2028, has taken away several key highlights of the event: Anubis’s Wrath, Lost Mission, Metamorphosis, and the street performances. In response, the park is unveiling a fully revamped entertainment lineup to fill the void.
Come December, it's time for Gaulish Christmas to take over the park. The festivities include a covered outdoor ice rink in the Viking zone, a , holiday carols, and Obelix's popular slide on inflatable rings. Visitors can enjoy shows like Quel Cirque, Chantons Noël, and Who Wants Santa's Hide? The highlight remains the Gaulish Christmas Parade, complete with a spectacular fireworks display.
