Fête des Jardins 2023 at the Académie du Climat: Workshops, lectures, entertainment and bingo

Workshops, lectures, entertainment and bingo are on the program for the Fête des Jardins 2023 at the Académie du Climat on September 23 and 24.

At the initiative of the City of Paris, theAcadémie du Climat opened its doors at the end of 2021 in the former town hall of the 4th arrondissement, a stone's throw from theHôtel de Ville. An educational facility dedicated to the environment, where young people aged 9 to 25 are invited to reflect on current climate challenges through artistic, cultural and activist programming.

So when it comes to celebrating nature, the environment and biodiversity in the city, theAcadémie du Climat is the obvious choice! For the Fête des Jardins 2023 , scheduled to take place in the parks, gardens and squares of Paris from September 20 to 24, theAcadémie is looking forward to welcoming curious young and old alike with a free program on Saturday September 23 and Sunday September 24!

Saturday September 23 - 2pm > 7pm at the Académie du Climat

  • Quiz Fresque de la Forêt - Proposed by all4trees Animation of the Fresque de la Forêt in a quiz version inspired by the Fresque du Climat and based on collective intelligence, to understand everything about the causes and consequences of deforestation. Question-and-answer game and cards to discover! 2pm-7pm in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous

  • Dancing the world! Proposed by LA CABANE DES ASSOCIATIONS and LA MAISON SPORT SANTÉ de Créteil Dance workshop with movements connected to symbolic themes (nature, fraternity, climate change), inspired by Indian dances (Bollywood in particular) and with a dance therapy/creative dance approach, to create a short choreography that symbolizes our environmental awareness. 2pm-3.15pm and 3.30pm-4.45pm - in the gymnasium on the 4th floor - for everyone - on Registration here - 15 places per slot

  • Bingo Bruco - Brought to you by Fantastiko Discover environmental and social issues in a fun and friendly way! 2pm-7pm in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous in small groups

  • Conference - Eco-responsible gardening in the city, on a balcony terrace or in a small garden - Proposed by Mademoiselle Joëlle Conference and debate on the origin of plants, their place in the Ile-de-France basin, their seasonality and trends, gardening tools, substrates, useful surfaces for gardening, containers, growing aids, composting, fertilizers, the importance of climates... 15h-16h30 in the nursery on the ground floor - for everyone - Registration recommended by clicking here - 50 places available

  • Biodiversity in the city - Proposed by PikPik Environnement Test your knowledge of biodiversity in the Paris region, and identify and protect species. Have your say on "unloved" species! 2pm-7pm in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous

  • Inventons nos vies bas carbone workshop - Proposed by Nos Vies Bas Carbone Discover answers using an original, visual, intuitive and low-tech device. As a group, you'll build positive solutions and imaginaries, showing that we can live better while responding to the climate emergency. This workshop is inspired by permaculture: we need climate solutions that reduce inequalities and pollution, and preserve peace, biodiversity and soil. These solutions are relevant in the face of planetary limits, even if only the climate aspect is explained. The workshop lasts between 2h30 and 3h. 3pm-6pm in the kitchen on the 1st floor - for everyone - Register here - 20 places

  • Plant cuttings and permaculture workshop - Offered by the association Un Balcon en Ville Discover the principles of permaculture and take cuttings. 2pm-7pm in the courtyard - for all - continuous

  • Ecosystem game - Offered by mediators from the Académie du Climat A thought-provoking game on biodiversity to help visitors understand the fragility of ecosystems (oceans, countryside, rivers) and the consequences of human activities on the flora and fauna of these environments. 2pm-6pm in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous

  • Plant printing - Suggested by the Climate Academy mediators Using the plant printing technique, observe the structure and composition of a leaf beyond its outward appearance (sap, pigments, etc.). The Kieskimank game is also offered during this workshop: find the plant on each plate that doesn't have its double. 14h-18h in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous in small groups

  • Climbing rope trivet - Proposed by Recyclerie Sportive Creation of trivets from old climbing ropes, for climbing enthusiasts and/or those with a passion for reused decorative items. 2 - 6.30pm in the courtyard - for everyone - continuous in small groups

  • Creative jewelry workshops - Offered by Les couleurs du bonheur Creation of bracelets "in the colors of the garden" using glass seed beads, for ages 5 or 6 and up, alone or with the help of an adult. 12pm-5pm - for everyone - continuous in small groups

  • Ecosystems game - Proposed by the Climate Academy mediators A game of reflection on biodiversity to help visitors understand the fragility of ecosystems (oceans, countryside, rivers) and the consequences of human activities on the flora and fauna of these environments. 12pm-5pm - for everyone - continuous

  • Botanical walk - Suggested by mediators from the Académie du Climat Stroll through the neighborhood and discover the role of biodiversity in the city via an urban walk. Observe and recognize the most common trees in Paris (plane trees, birches, elms, Judas trees, etc.) or weeds, depending on the season. This introduces the various threats to biodiversity.
