Paris is gearing up for a unique experience: a huge picnic on the famous Champs-Élysées avenue. Scheduled for this Sunday, May 26, 2024, the event promises to gather around 4,000 participants around a gingham tablecloth spread between Rue Arsène Houssaye and Avenue George V.
Having already transformed the Champs-Élysées into a cinema and record-breaking venue for a giant dictation, Ubi Bene and the Comité Champs-Élysées are launching a new initiative: a free picnic open to all. Registration for this totally free event is already open, so it's time to wake up!
The festivities kick off at 11:45am with a first service, followed by a second at 1:30pm. Each participant will have the opportunity to sample packed lunches prepared by local restaurateurs, all in an idyllic setting with theArc de Triomphe as a backdrop. The meals, cooked on site by nine ephemeral kitchens, will feature French gastronomy.
The 4,212-square-meter tablecloth, decorated with red and white checks, is made from 100% recycled fabrics. Efforts are also being made to minimize the environmental impact of the event, with sorting garbage cans available and water fountains to refill participants' water bottles, in collaboration with Eau de Paris.
To get the chance to take part in this exceptional picnic, interested parties must register on the official Paris City Hall website. The registration process will enable entire families or groups of friends to enjoy this memorable day together. Registration is open to all, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.
In short, this grand picnic on the Champs-Élysées promises to be grandiose and, without a doubt, unique. It has to be said that eating in the heart of the capital's most emblematic avenue is not a common occurrence. Don't miss your chance to be part of this grand and convivial gourmet experience. Bring your friends and family, it's time to live a historic moment.
